Meet the Characters from Speaking the Truth of Family & Speaking the Truth of Christmas

2 Comments on Meet the Characters from Speaking the Truth of Family & Speaking the Truth of Christmas

Before you dive into a book you read the synopsis, right? Then you go on to maybe read the first few pages. Well what if you could get to know the characters of the book before you pick it up? As the author I’m giving you exclusive access to my character’s personalities because why not! So you’ve met the characters from my first book, Not Like Everyone Else, now it’s time to meet the characters from Speaking the Truth of Family.

As my favorite project to date, Speaking the Truth of Family has some of my favorite characters as well. They (to me) are the most relatable characters I’ve ever written. I guess when a book is written in verse, you have to have distinct personalities. And maybe that is why I wrote Speaking the Truth of Christmas. I mean it does follow these same characters.

Don’t worry, this post will not contain spoilers!

Lindsey and Baylee from the Speaking the Truth Series

Main Character – Lindsey

Lindsey is a naive and trusting 14-year old girl who has a fierce love for her family and friends. She is also passionate about art and putting her all into her favorite class: art. As freshman year progresses, Lindsey must look inside herself to figure out who she is and who she loves.

Art Class Friend – Baylee

Baylee is a bubbly and fun loving person. She likes to be playful and not take everything so serious. When she’s around Lindsey, she feels way more timid than she usually feels. But that’s okay because the two become fast friends. Critiquing and inspiring each other’s art.

Mandy, Val, and Emma from the Speaking the Truth Series

BFF – Mandy

Mandy is a strong and opinionated friend. She is outgoing and doesn’t allow any B.S. in her friend group. Since day one Many and Lindsey have been friends. She doesn’t even remember a time Lindsey wasn’t in her life. From the sleepovers and late night talks they’re practically sisters.

Friend – Val

Val is the quiet and science loving friend. She likes to do things with her friend group, but typically finds herself falling behind in classes because of her boy-crazed mind. Lindsey and Val have been friends since elementary school and that bond has yet to waver.

Friend – Emma

Emma is the new kid at school. She fits right in with this group of friends, so much so that they’ve forgotten they haven’t known her forever. She is the voice of reason and calm when everyone else is anything but.

Cody and Callie from the Speaking the Truth Series

Brother – Cody

Cody is Lindsey’s hard to read older brother. He doesn’t have a lot to say and keeps to himself. He’d rather throw himself into a sports video game than have to talk to his family. If he could have more privacy, he’d take it in a heartbeat.

Sister – Callie

Callie is the oldest of Lindsey’s siblings. She is the outspoken one in the family. Callie is usually busy with college classes or work. She is engaged to her high school boyfriend and is getting married within the year.

So there you have it, the characters from Speaking the Truth of Family and my upcoming release Speaking the Truth of Christmas (12/14/2023). It’s always fun to share more of the inner world of my characters.
