It’s almost that time of year again! The sun goes down before 5, the leaves have fallen from the trees, and NaNoWriMo’s back! That’s right, November is next week! Can you believe it?! Being that I plan to participate this year, I decided to do some planning. Not a lot though, because I’m a total pantser when it comes to NaNo.
For those of you who don’t know about NaNo or my previous NaNo experience, check out the NaNoWriMo tab! (It has a lot of fun information!)
Anyway, I never go into NaNo with a plan EVER (aka pantser)! I may be superstitious because the only year that I planned out the book before writing it, I gave up. I just couldn’t muster up the energy to write anymore. I also was in school at the time and finals were coming up. Besides that one time, I go in without a plan and just write. I never know what is going to happen in my books, and the characters decide what is going to happen. (The voices inside my head are real! I swear!)
Even though I have sworn off planning, I have some ideas of what I want to write about for this NaNo. The thing is, I need help deciding which one to take on.
Hear me out, I’m going to list my EXTREMELY vague ideas for a young adult book. Then I want YOU to vote down below and COMMENT any thoughts you have about the ideas.
Are you ready?!
A girl who has a past she would rather forget is haunted by it. Her thoughts always go to “he wouldn’t like that” or “he knows I wouldn’t like that, I didn’t like it before.” She is trapped within her home because her parents don’t believe she can make it in the real world.
A guy wakes up and has no clue what has happened. He is where he fell, but things look different and yet still the same. It’s when he is driving down the road that he realizes the past is all around him, acting as if nothing has changed. He knows better though because it’s 2017 and that building he just drove by was demolished years ago.
Now it’s time to vote! So what do you think? Should I write about Option #1 or Option #2?! Vote Now!
Thanks for reading along and helping me decide what I should write about this NaNo season! Stay tuned for my NaNo update posts that will go out every Monday starting November 6!
