Uncaged Wallflower - Jennae Cecelia review

Today, I’m going to be reviewing Jennae Cecelia‘s poetry collection Uncaged Wallflower. For this poetry review, I’m going to do it a little bit differently. I noticed that with every poetry book I read, that the results were always the same. 5 stars. Which is not a bad thing at all. These books are amazing! I just feel as if I am not giving them a fair review based on their content.

So instead of a normal review mentioning the likes and dislikes of the book, I’m going to rate the book based on three categories. If it meets the criteria it will get 3 checks. For a detailed description of the check system, check out my rating system for poetry (at the bottom of the rating system page).

A bit of background before I begin. Uncaged Wallflower is about positivity. Positivity surrounding yourself and uplifting you to feel empowered. That is what this collection centers around.Uncaged Wallflower Jennae Cecelia top poems

My thoughts:

Style – I enjoy the style that Cecelia uses for her poems. They use just enough words to provide the full force of meaning that is being conveyed.

Relatability – There are so many times when I was reading that I felt that the poems were talking about me. I could relate to a lot of the poems and it made the book that much more enjoyable.

Emotions – These poems are set out to make you feel empowered and it works. As I read, I felt as if I could do and accomplish anything. This is something that I have not experienced in any kind of book before. It is refreshing and invigorating.

Overall, Uncaged Wallflower is an empowering poetry book that really resonated with me. I loved how the poems made me feel as I read them. I can’t wait to read more by Jennae Cecelia! Uncaged Wallflower gets…

  1. Positivity is a must in all our lives. I’m empowered by the people’s story of overcoming problems and troubles. I’m empowered by children. They’re not bad kids, so I guess I must be ok. I’m empowered by music.

    1. I’ve reviewed a few poetry books that I’ve really enjoyed. My favorite so far has the be Uncaged Wallflower. If you look under my genres tab under reviews there is a poetry section.

  2. I just started reading a little bit of poetry and this one sounds worth checking out… will be trying to read more soon.

  3. RE your review format, I like it. I like the darker text more because I can read it without highlighting. I’m struggling to read the rest though because its so close to the background colour :hides:

  4. The first poetry review i’ve read online. Im not much of a poetry person, but I love the fact that this one was enjoyable to you as a reader. The review system makes sense for us who dont normally read poetry. At least when I come across a poetry book, I will know what im looking for, well in terms of constructuve reviewing.

What do you think?
