I first want to start off with how original This Boy is a Rainbow is. It encompasses Sam’s feelings through so many emotions in love and heartbreak. It is a beautifully written collection that had me feeling lots of emotion.
Sam is very active on Instagram where he posts a lot of poems. Check him out at bysampayne and don’t forget to follow him because his posts are inspiring.
Style – There are a variety of long and short poems in this collection. They are beautifully written and in a style that is easy to read and understand.
Relatability – I found that the poems are very relatable. I feel as some of the poems were meant for me. They made me think about my life and everything in it. The topics explored in the collection deal with love, heartbreak, betrayal, and empowerment.
Emotions – Sam uses a lot of emotion in his poems. They are powerful and at times bitter. His emotion made me enjoy this collection so much.
Overall, This Boy is a Rainbow is a beautiful and original poetry collection. It tackles the emotions behind love and heartbreak. As well as, the emotions behind betrayal by someone you love and empowering yourself from it. This is a great collection for anyone going through any of these topics.
