When you start on your Scrivener journey, why don’t you start at the source? Literature and Latte are the creators of Scrivener and their Youtube channel is FULL of information to get you started. The videos are broken into small, easy to learn sections that focus on a single aspect of the program. Pick and chose the areas you want to learn and PRESTO! You’re already one step closer to mastering Scrivener.

Author Level Up

Now maybe you need more than just the creators’ help. Well, if you check out Author Level Up’s Youtube Channel, you will find that Michael La Roon has a vast number of resources. He goes into great detail to help you learn Scrivener. Even throwing in tips that will help you with your future Scrivener projects. Think about my Creating Scrivener Templates post as an example.

Kim Chance

If you’re looking for a lighthearted yet basic way to learn Scrivener, then I suggest checking out Kim Chance’s video. She goes through Scrivener in a bare basics way that will ensure you understand how the overall writing program works. I’d start here to ensure that you understand the basics before delving into more complex parts of Scrivener.

Learn Scrivener Fast

If you need some hands-on learning of Scrivener, then I recommend taking the Learn Scrivener Fast class by Joseph Michael. I personally have never taken this course, but I did take Joseph’s Masterclass, which outlines his course, last year. It was the most informational and important class I have taken to learn about Scrivener to date. He is detailed and helps you to understand the program.

  1. I may have to try that trial copy! My writing partner and I have gone back and forth about using Scrivener and couldn’t decide. We have our own system that works well for us already in place and the idea to move everything over makes me queasy. But it does have a lot of benefits.

    1. Scrivener does have a lot of benefits and once you move everything over, it’s actually not that hard to pick up where you left off. I have a few other blog posts that help you get started with Scrivener if you’re interested in taking that step forward. 😊
