It’s 2018 and with it brings new resolutions. This year, I want to be free from the burdens of books of the past that I no longer want to read. So I’m going to be 100% honest and knock them onto the Books I’ll Probably Never Read list.

I was tagged by Jenn at A Page of Jenniely! The link will take you to her post which you should follow and read her answers!

So let’s see what gets the cut from my TBR list!

Books I'll Probably Never Read Tag

A really hyped up book you’re not interested in reading?

Honestly, I’m absolutely terrible with hyped up books. It takes me years to ever get to them. However, I’m not really interested in reading is The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert. I don’t really find the synopsis interesting and it doesn’t seem to be a book I would enjoy. Now, this doesn’t mean I won’t read it, but it’s not high on my priority list.

A series you won’t start/won’t be finishing?

I started this series years ago. Read the first two books. Watched the first movie. Now, I have no interested in completing the series. And yes, I already own all of the books. It’s for The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner. I found the books to be slightly difficult to read and boring, but the concept is pretty cool. However, so much time has passed that I really don’t think I’m ever going to finish them so I’m saying goodbye!

A classic that you’re just not interested in?

In high school, we’re forced to read many classic books. A lot of them are really good and worth reading. Like 1984, Brave New World, and Catcher in the Rye. But now that I’m no longer in high school, I don’t take too much time to read classics. One classic I don’t want to read is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It’s just not my cup of tea.

Any genres you never read?

I read so many different genres that it’s hard to keep track. However, I don’t like erotica books so I’ll never read them.

A book on your shelves you’ll probably never actually read?

Isn’t there always?! I’ve gotten better about reading the books on my shelves, but The Drowning by Rachel Ward will probably sit there forever because I won’t part ways with it. At least not yet.

  1. I love this tag! I’ve read all the Maze Runner books and can tell you they’re not worth it! The first one’s good but by the end it’s clear the author ran out of ideas. I have read Fahrenheit 451 as well, I gave it 3 stars, so I suppose if you never read that either then you’re not missing out on much 🙂 love what you’re doing, keep up the great reviews! – Amy @ Amy’s Bookshelf

    1. I found the books pretty uninteresting and I think I may have enjoyed the movies if I didn’t read the books first. Maybe I’ll watch them again one day 🙂

    1. It’s definitely not a burden! But it’s a fun tag to remove some books that are holding you back.

  2. I really liked the Maze Runner movie but don’t have much of an interest reading the books. I agree that the premise is great. I also thought the second movie was a bit less exciting.

    1. I felt as if everything about the series was alright and nothing spectacular. I never even saw the second movie because of the reviews I read about it.

    1. I’ve honestly never had any interest in reading it. I’m not really sure why. I’ve never read any RB books either. Maybe one day I’ll change my mind though so there is still hope! 🙃

  3. Yay! Thanks for the tag! I’m pretty behind on tags right now but I’ll catch up eventually..even if it isn’t til summer 😂 I’m sad you don’t want to read Fahrenheit 451. One of my favorite classics ever. I’ve read it twice now. Once for school and once for pleasure. You aren’t missing much with The Maze Runner series though. I did read them all except for the newest one he’s coming out with and I decided I’m not even going to bother with that one. I didn’t love the series. It was just okay.

    1. At least you’ll always have something to post about! 😂 Maybe one day I’ll want to read Fahrenheit 451, but so far I just haven’t had any interest in reading it. As for the Maze Runner, I’m glad I’m not missing much then!

What do you think?
