The Questions:

Top 3 Book Pet Hates

1 I don’t like books with animals in them. They are always sad and *SPOILER ALERT* I’ve yet to find one where the animal lives.

2 I hate books that start off slow. It takes me forever to get into it and I contemplate putting the book on my shelf instead of finishing it.

3 The synopsis doesn’t match the story. A few times I’ve read a book where the synopsis only covers the beginning of the book and nothing else. So the rest of the story I’m completely in the dark.

Perfect Reading Spot

I love reading in my bed, tucked under lots of soft, fluffy blankets.

3 Book Confessions

1 I just started reading the Harry Potter series for the first time recently

2 From my junior year in high school until I finished college I barely read anything for fun.

3 I really enjoy almost all genres. I’m not sure if I’ve read them all, but I the ones I have read I have enjoyed.

Last Time You Cried Reading a Book

I rarely cry for books. But I did tear up when reading The Loose Ends List (review here). It struck really close to home for me, and it shocked me that I did shed a few tears for this one.

Number of Books on Your Bedside Table

I only keep my current read beside my bed. I don’t want to risk ruining the book by taking it off the shelf unnecessarily.

Favorite Reading Snack

I usually don’t snack when I read because then I get too distracted. But every once in awhile I’ll have a cookie.

3 Books You’d Recommend to Anyone

1984 by George Orwell

The Giver by Lois Lowry

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

A Picture of Your Favorite Bookshelf

Well, my bookshelf is in shambles right now, so I owe you one photo of a bookshelf when it’s put back together!

Biggest Reading Secret

Well, I’ve already mentioned not reading Harry Potter, so, uhm, I’m stuck. I don’t talk about books around anyone except my fiance because they won’t care what I’m talking about. It has been like that since I started reading back in elementary school and has since continued throughout my life.

I TAG!

I’m filling this in pretty late and having a hard time thinking of people. If you want to do this tag, I tag you! 🙂

This was fun! I love to do tags that reveal more about me. However, maybe I failed the test? There isn’t an answer key with this, is there? Anyway, good thing it’s not graded!

    1. I loved both the book and movie too! It’s definitely one I recommend people read because it’s amazing!

    1. I’ve yet to read the Outsiders even though my sister gifted me a copy a while ago. I would love to read it though!

  1. Loved your answers! I don’t like books with animals in them too. I actually stay away from them because I just know some parts would be sad and ughh I hate feeling that way with animals. I’m with you on the Harry Potter thing. I read the first book during college and stopped. I did really enjoy it, but I think other things in life came up and I just never got back into it. I also didn’t really start reading a lot until after college. I read a few books in high school (A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Princess Diaries and a few others) and the Twilight series in college, but stopped. I did other things, watched tons of movies and traveled here and there. After I graduated and started my job, I suddenly had the urge to read again. I think Hunger Games was just coming out in the movies. After that, I read the series and started picking up books again. I probably spent another year or two reading a lot and then taking months of breaks, but the past 2-3 years, I’ve been reading regularly =). I think my longest break from reading was probably just a month or so. =)

    1. 100% agree! It’s so bad that I can’t even tell you one book that I read in college that wasn’t required reading. It’s been great to be back into reading again as it’s been so long!

      1. Reading is definitely way more fun for me now. Not to mention there are soooo many amazing YA books and just books in general being published every week. I just want to read all of them.

  2. Harry Potter is a great series, but as you will have noticed the size of the books as the story progresses, they take some reading. You will also find you say to yourself a lot ‘that didn’t happen in the film’ as there are lots of scenes in the books that don’t appear in the films.

I don’t really have any book secrets except only one sister knows that I’m a blogger and I’ve been doing it for three years.

    1. I did that a lot in book 1, so I’m sure I will continue to do so in the rest of the books.
Wow, that is a secret! Is it on purpose no one else knows? If you don’t mind me asking.

    1. I tried reading the series and started with book 2 and only ever made it halfway through. At least now I’m starting at the beginning!

        1. Start slow. I’m only reading one book a month and for the longer books, I plan on taking two months. It’s a lot less stressful and intimidating that way 😊

          1. Omg that’s such a good idea. I always feel like if I read a series I need to finish it ASAP but it’s good to remind myself that that’s not how it is at all. I can go at whatever pace I want. 😀

      1. I have to agree that it is a very good series! But it is a big time investment to get through them all.
